Hello non-twalkers,
Everyone should be out and about by now, but for those at home here the view of the trackers.
None of this silly sleeping business
Hello non-twalkers,
Everyone should be out and about by now, but for those at home here the view of the trackers.
Hi there,
One more sleep! At 10am we will post a tracking link here for those at home to see how things are going.
Also, its getting close and everything is booked in, so we wont be issuing refunds for cancellations from now on, unless you have already gotten in touch. We have had a lot more pull outs than we anticipated, so we can no longer afford to be nice about them. Sorry about that.
Look forward to seeing you out there!
Hello Twalkers!
We are just about there, very exciting. I highly recommend the twalk documentary (https://youtu.be/ZMZ4tV9cl5Q) to get hyped up. I hope all consumes are being prepared and we are ready to roll.
Everyone should have received an email about the COMPULSORY team briefing this Wednesday, 6:30pm. If you haven’t, check your spam and if it isn’t there then email us at twalk@cutc.org.nz. There is a zoom link in the email for those who can not attend in person. See you then!
Also it being the last stretch means that we are locking in the teams. We can no longer add or substitute members. No changes to team names either. Also be aware generally that we will also be very limited in responding to emails from now on, while we will (probably) read them, we will probably be too busy to respond to all of them. We are going full TWALK mode.
If you can no longer compete, no worries at all! We can refund if you get in contact before midnight Friday. Just make sure to email us with your team name, your name, bank account you want it paid into and if you were a student or non-student fare. Refunds should all be processed by late next week.
If you have any more questions, ask them at the team briefing!
Hey ya!
We have now closed entries, so we are no longer accepting signups. T-shirt entries are also closed. We are at 475 signups, so getting pretty close to our 500 person limit. Whew! it’s gonna be a big one this year!
This gives us just enough time with locked down numbers to finalise and plan everything. You can still email us (twalk@cutc.org.nz) about adding more members to your team as we have a little wriggle room there, but there is no guarantee.
Can’t wait to see everyone out there!
Sorry to those who missed out! Hope you can make it next year 🙂
Hey ya twalkers!
Whew its getting close ain’t it? We have 400 sign-ups (wooo) so it looks like its going to be a stunner of TWALK if you ask me.
We are doing a soft close on entries on midday Monday 24th April, so please get your entries in before then! We can not guarantee that any entries after then will be able to be confirmed. Don’t stress too much about the payment confirmations, we can be a bit slow about confirmations, as long as you have the sign-up in before the due date you will be all sorted. If you signed up over a week ago and are yet to hear from us, please reach out!
We can add team members to teams easily enough, but again, make sure to get those in before the 24th. Afterwards you can try, but there is no guarantee. So before the 24th flick us an email at twalk@cutc.org.nz, let us know your team name and the new member’s name, email, dietary, medical conditions and that they consent to become a CUTC temporary club member.
T-shirt entries have a hard entry close at midday on the 24th, we will be sending in the order to the printer that afternoon so make you sign up in time!
Thanks folks, you will be hearing more from us in the coming weeks 🙂

I hope you all are as excited as we are!
First off, Twalk 2023 will be held on the weekend, 6-7th May 2023. Mark it on your calendars. We will make a post on our website when entries are open, but that is still a wee ways away from now :).
Whew putting this out a bit late, but we got there in the end. Twalk 2022 was an absolute blast and we loved organising a fantastic event for all you beautiful people.
I would like to thank everyone that attended, big round of applause for making it. Even bigger thanks to all the volunteers, without each and every one of them, Twalk couldn’t happen. Huge thanks especially to Blake, who was a huge help organising the kitchen. Our first aid team, a bunch of volunteers from R.A.T.S. was fantastic as always, patching up a rather concerning number of injuries. HUGE thanks to the fantastic people at Woodchester Station for allowing us to run around on their land. We had some fantastic sponsors, Bivouac Outdoor providing our brilliant winning prizes. Sanitarium helped us feed you. Event Hire (www.eventhire.co.nz) the helped us kit out the hash house. Chef’s Hire kitted out the kitchen. The University of Canterbury Student Association and the Canterbury University Tramping Club committee gave critical support.Â
Thank you thank you thank you thank you
Ok now to 2023. So in 2022 We had limited entry numbers as the event was organized while there were restrictions on the number of attendees at events. Now those restrictions don’t apply so we will try to fit in as many people as we can (surely a 500 person Twalk this year). Hopefully those that missed out in 2022 will be able to come 2023.
Also, if you have any criticisms, advice, comments, thoughts, twalk video links or write ups, send it though here: https://forms.gle/Jt5v9WTYPxVZ2jsy6 . Its always good to hear things that we can do better next time :).
Hey ya,
This is scheduled for after we get everyone on buses because this is for everyone at home. If you are an attendee, don’t click the link, I will be very disappointed if you so.
For those at home, you will be able to track where people are on this website https://mytrack.co.nz/adventure/twalk.html
Cheers!
It looks like we will avoid a bunch of the rain, woooo! No promises, but I am hopeful
There will be a post going live at 8:30am Sat with link which will allow people at home to track their teams. Contestants ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LOOK, it would spoil the fun.
From now on I will be busy setting up, so emails might go unanswered. You can still get refunds if you are sick and can’t come, up to 7am Saturday, we just might not be able email to confirm. You will be added to our refund list though.
Cheers!
